Jeeps and Rubber Ducks: A Fun Craze For Jeep Lovers

A Jeep that has been ducked too many times to count.

The ducking of jeeps has been around for the last couple of years, and I am here for it. I have owned Jeeps from the time I could drive, and this new phenomenon has me feeling blessed to be a part of the Jeep community. Move over Jeep Wave (although not really, because I love the Jeep Wave equally), because there is a new tradition here to stay.

If you are unfamiliar with the act of “ducking” a Jeep, this act of kindness is done between Jeep owners to show an admiration of another Jeep, all while brightening the day of that driver. It’s all about providing a smile for someone, and don’t you want to be a part of that?

The act of ducking has become quite popular on social media as well. In fact, if you search on social media, there are well over 200,000 posts with #duckduckJeep. I became a part of the Duck Duck Jeep private group on FaceBook recently, and now my feed is flooded by rubber ducks on a daily basis. It isn’t just regular, run-of-the-mill rubber duckies you’ve seen in the bathtub either. Some of the ducks are themed, have crazy coloring, weird outfits, etc. You name an idea for styling a rubber duck, and there is probably one out there.

With my new Jeep Wrangler JL Willys, I haven’t been fortunate enough to receive a duck yet. In fact, I really haven’t seen much ducking going on in my community of Greeley, CO. But, I am committed to extending this fun act of kindness to my community! I absolutely love when people come up with things like this.

I wanted to see what the market looked like for fun rubber ducks, and when I did a quick search on Amazon, I was astonished to see how many options there were! I had no idea there was so much variation in the rubber duck industry (lol). So, be as creative as you would like with your rubber ducks! The possibilities are endless!

What are the rules of ducking a Jeep? That’s the best part. There are no rules! Take your supply of ducks with you, and when you see a Jeep that is worthy of a ducking, place that rubber duckie right on it. Hopefully, the driver of that Jeep will get a kick out of the gesture and will pass it forward.

After all, in today’s world, I think we can use a little bit of kindness and pass-it-forward attitudes.
